CHILDREN'S RESOURCES (in Fijian and English)
(coming Soon to Fijituwawa.com)
These children's resources will be produced in series bilingually
(English and Fijian) and contains well known folklore and legends of Fiji. Many Fijians
would relate to these stories as they were told to us from childhood. This initiative is to
encourage our people to bring back their skills in reading, and making reading as a family time.
The idea of publishing children's resources is to use the Fijian language as a way of making our
Fijian children appreciate as to who they are. We believe that by knowing how to read and speak
in both Fijian and English, will lead a child to learn another or more languages. As many
Fijians are living abroad, these books would allow parents to share their own life stories
to the children. To see them in colorful pictures or photos can make them visualize what
Fiji was like.
